Massage Therapy Rates and Services

1/2 hour massage: $45 plus tax*

1 hour massage: $80 plus tax* (longer massage therapy sessions prorated on the hourly rate)

Massage therapy may be arranged at an alternate location for clients who are incapacitated due to illness, injury, or hospitalization.
1 hour: $115 plus tax*

*If the client presents a note from a chiropractor or physician at the time of the appointment, service is not subject to sales tax.

Types of Bodywork Available

Massage therapy relaxes the body and the mind. It is a useful tool for stress management, relief from muscle injuries, pre- and post-operatively, as an aid to healing from trauma, to assist abuse recovery, for the treatment of swelling or lymphedema, as an adjunct to cancer treatment, even for palliative care at the end of life. Many remark on the heightened sense of wellbeing and increased body awareness massage affords.

Three Gates massage therapists are licensed by the Ohio State Medical Board. Each is certified in various therapeutic disciplines. SWEDISH MASSAGE focuses on softening, lengthening, and relaxing the muscles. Massage therapist usually uses oil or lotion. Pressure can vary according to the client's preferences. Excellent for relaxation, for muscle fatigue or soreness following exertion, and for some muscle injuries.

CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY (CST) focuses on the flow of craniosacral fluid along the spine and in the skull to bring about better balance and an enhanced sense of well being. Massage therapist uses gentle pressure techniques. Useful in relieving anxiety. Especially helpful for physically frail individuals or those who are recovering from emotional or physical trauma.

MANUAL LYMPH DRAINAGE (MLD) focuses on the lymphatic system to shift fluid balance in the body. Massage therapist uses gentle, repetitive movements. Excellent for relief of swelling, some vascular conditions (such as some types of headache), and for detoxification after a time of stress or illness.

ENERGY WORK focuses on the subtle energy systems of the body to bring about beneficial changes. Excellent for people who need energetic support for emotional work - such as grief, recovery from trauma, confronting a chronic or acute illness - or for those who seek greater body awareness and integration for enhanced well being.
